Todd Grainger, a physician who goes by the nom de blogue the Confessing Reader, posted an extended reflection on my essay about teen-aged faith. In the comments section of his posting, he and I are now in a discussion about empiricism and materialsm that you might find interesting. We may just be zeroing in on where he and I have been talking past each other (sporadically) for several months.

D.C., I think you’re probably right, that we are zeroing in on the fundamental points that have caused us to talk past each other these past several months.
I don’t know that we will come to any sort of agreement on these sundry points, but at least we’ll get a better idea where the disagreements lie.
