I just returned from a few days of camping with my family in the Blue RIdge Mountains, where the temperatures were delightful compared to those of the Texas Gulf Coast, and where there was no Internet access or even cell-phone signal.
One of the memorable moments was my wife’s reaction when I pointed out a group of fairly-large water snakes (non-venomous) sunning themselves on a creek bank, a few feet away from where we were walking. Let’s just say she did not express any desire to study them more closely.
