Why Houston’s Weather is Better than California’s

We’re having a beautiful day here in Houston.  It’s a welcome relief from our standard summer weather.

(From mid-May to mid-September, our typical daily forecast, day in and day out, goes something like this:  Sunny to partly-cloudy skies; high in the mid- to upper 90s; low in the mid- to upper 70s; 20% chance of afternoon thundershowers. And let’s not forget the humidity.)

I claim, however, that Houston has better weather than either San Francisco or San Diego, where I lived for the better part of five years while I was in the Navy.

Here’s why:   In California’s coastal cities, gorgeous weather is an everyday event, just another ho-hum day in paradise.   In contrast, when we have nice weather in Houston, we appreciate it.
