From the Distortions Happen department: My daughter was one of the many students locked down at the University of Texas at Austin this morning. Shortly afterwards, she emailed to let everyone know she was OK (she was several blocks from where the gunman was), and said they'd heard 27 people were killed. No one was killed except the gunman, who turned his weapon on himself, so I wonder where in the world the students got that information?
