In a letter to the editor in today’s Wall Street Journal, TV writer/producer Barry Fitzsimmons says: “The industry claims to ‘hold up a mirror to society.’ Please. They are holding up a mirror to their own twisted idea of what is outrageous enough to get us to watch, now that quality characters and simple storytelling have become too provincial.”
