Expand the Scope of This Blog?

Two questions for my regular readers:

1.  Would this blog be less appealing if I occasionally posted notes on non-religion subjects — for example, from the legal world?   I used to maintain another blog, By No Other, focused primarily but not exclusively on business law.  I haven’t posted to it in more than a year, but I still get the urge to write about some of the things I addressed there.  I can’t keep two blogs up to date.  I’m wondering if it would turn off many readers of this blog if I were to expand its scope a bit.

2.  If I did end up expanding the scope of this blog, I’d probably want to change the name.  My chief adviser on all things in life says I shouldn’t do that, but I’m still thinking about it.  One possibility that comes to mind is the Latin word Scitemur, "let us inquire," which I understand is pronounced skee-TAY-murr.  That strikes me as being perhaps too hard to remember, but I’m interested in your reations and/or other suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

    1. I think it would be great to read what you have to say about the legal world. I like a blog that covers all kinds of territory.
    2. I don’t think you necessarily need to change the name, but if you want to, you should. I think you might be right that that name is too hard to remember, though. There must be some other good name for the concept you’re looking for. I’ll think about it and see if I can come up with any ideas….

As a VP of Investor Relations and Communications for a NYSE company, I’d love to see your comments on business law (and ethics?) especially about Reg FD and Sarbanes-Oxley.
The communications side of my job leads me to ask you to appraise how much “equity” you have in the name before you change it. Personally, I think your “brand” has developed quite nicely over the past couple of years and I’d hate to see you throw away the value you’ve built. Perhaps a subhead each time you revert to type: “From the Barrister” or some such thing.
For me, the chief is on the money.

There are many finely honed, legal minds churning out analyses, perceptions, and advice on business and business-related law. Many are also posing as legislators. Many are trolling for clients.
There are precious few laymen and laywomen with finely honed minds who are paying attention to the state of the Church, and who are expressing their views as you do. I’d urge you to keep the blog with its present focus.
